SAD: Buhari’s media aide dies

- House’s Director of Information, Justin Abuah died on Sunday, August 14 after a brief illness

– Abuah is responsible for writing all President Buhari’s statements and speeches
– The presidency confirmed his death through special adviser on media and publicity to the president, Femi Adesina

One of the media aides in the presidential villa, Justin Onuorah Abuah has died at the age of 57.
Abuah, who was Director of Information in the State House died on Sunday, August 14 after a brief illness.
The sad development was confirmed by special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, in a press statement on Monday, August 15 in Abuja.
“Born on January 29, 1959, Mr Abuah, fondly called O.J, by all who knew and came in close contact with him, died on Sunday, August 14, in Abuja after a brief illness.
“The late Abuah had a long and rich career at the Presidency, where he served seven past Nigerian leaders since 1986 when he joined the State House media office from the News Agency of Nigeria,” he said.
Adesina said Abuah will be fondly remembered by many colleagues, friends and admirers as the man behind several presidential statements and speeches; and he demonstrated a rare sense of calmness and candour in service.
According to him, Abuah was a native of Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area, Delta State.
“O.J is survived by his wife, Loretta and three children (Chinedum, Chike and Amaechi).”
“President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a condolence message to the bereaved family.
“Burial arrangements will be announced later by the family,” he added.
President Muhammadu Buhari over his handling of the rescue of the abducted girls and described his administration as more clueless than Goodluck Jonathan’s own.
The girls were abducted from their school in 2014 during the administration of Jonathan and President Buhari has vowed to rescue the girls.
